Sisters of Substance is a female-friendly weekend leadership retreat aimed at encouraging and empowering young girls to rise-up, rethink and reach out.

Rise Up: Self-esteem and positive body image, building positive relationships
Re-Think: Critical look at the media (music, movies and television) and the internalization of the media
Reach Out: Gender and Development – women’s role in making change

Participants will engage with other participants, guest speakers, mentors. Also, they will enhance leadership skills, reflect and develop new skills, network and collaborate, canoe, hike and camp.

Open to all girls from grades 8-10 (grades 7 & 11 will be given special consideration).
Please make sure you are available for the program dates of April 30th – May 2nd, 2010.
